How much time do you all think he gets tonight, if any?

It'll be a little interesting seeing him and AD playing some decent minutes on the same team

Also, judging from the amount of time he played in preseason, and the fact that last night we had Ryno out and bigs in foul trouble, and Monty played Lance Thomas and Onuaku instead...

It doesn't look good. Monty is not a fan for some reason.

Monty's not afraid to rotate through players, but he also gives guys plenty of rope before yanking them. I think Stiemsma/Onuaku have to show absolutely nothing over the next 2 - 3 weeks before Withey sees anything besides blowout minutes. And as much as we all hated on Stiemsma, he had a 20% rebound rate and a 6.8 Block%. Both of those are excellent numbers in the only areas we expect him to make an impact. I still say he didn't pass the eye test though.

Those numbers surprise me a bit, but I agree on the eye test.

Sometimes numbers lie and you just have to trust your eyes, and he looked terrible to me.

I told my buddy about Withey-ing at the game.

I hope he gets some run here and does well, so it can become a thing at the Arena.

I'd be interested to see how many points were scored by players he was guarding...

He produced some of the things that we need him to, he just seems to help the other team produce a bit too readily.

His rebound rate is skewed by a flukey offensive rebounding rate, 27% with only 9.8% for defensive rebounding. For a good rebounder you'd expect those numbers to be flipped. Last year Dwight Howard had ORB% 10.4 DRB% 27.4 TRB% 19.1

Stiemsma's defensive rebounding rate was much worse than Lopez' last year. That's why he didn't pass the eye test.

Nope. It'll be a while probably before we see Jeff.

Was Steimsma injured in the last game?

I was at the game, and we saw him favoring his hand and wincing. He then came out of the game and wasn't on the bench for awhile. Don't remember seeing him play again after that.

Any word on that? If he's out at all, then Withey would almost have to play.

Pretty sure he's active with Ryno injured. With a soft schedule for the next few weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if a game has already been decided with a few minutes remaining and Monty throws him out there.

He was active the first game, and we could see him with injuries especially in a blow out, but I wouldn't count on it. The guy didn't even play a single minute in the scrimmage during the open practice. To be fair, he was on the bike most of the time, so he may have been nursing a small injury that he could be healed from by now.

Looks like he did get a minor injury.

Although backup center Greg Stiemsma has sore fingers, he participated in Friday's shootaround and is expected to play.
