I somehow missed this a few months ago...

No one has to ask Chris Ferrara or his family about fire. Check out the huge Ferrara Fire Apparatus complex along Interstate 12 to explain his successful nationwide operation.

Being on fire is another story, and is what led to him and the crew on the 60-foot Viking “Reel Fire” making headlines in the fishing world.

Ferrara established an Alabama state blue marlin record Friday in the second annual Blue Marlin Grand Championship on the Alabama coast.

When the news of his battle with a giant 845.8-pound blue reached his friends across south Louisiana that day, word was he’d won the million-dollar bounty bonus most folks believe went to the angler bettering the Alabama state record.

We might lose to them in football, but dammit we own their marlin record...

21-0. Or something like that. I'm not inbred, so I forget these things sometimes.

Yeh, well, they boated a 845 lb marlin. Same tourney had three fish over 700 lbs., two of which were state records. Supposedly, one team (that caught a 700 lb'er), almost spooled a 130 wide before another fish broke off.

That's a badass boat, but we fished next to C'est La Vie a few months back and were drooling the whole time.

American Custom Yachts

Rumor goes that the owner of Ce La Vie bought the company to ensure his was made the way he wanted. It's 90ft and will do 48 knots. With blower AC on the cockpit.

The perception is weird in a couple of those pics, the boat is twice as wide as the other sports I've seen. The last pic of them running in the best for scope, those tiny dots are people standing on the back of the bridge.

Here's a better angle.
