There is no doubt that if we don't put the game out of reach that the refs will do everything in their power to give Bama the edge.

The SECs only shot for an NC is Bama this year and they do not want to miss the last shot of the BCS era.

There will not be a single holding call against Bama, offense or defense, and the flags will fly against our guys constantly in the fourth quarter.

Late hits, roughing the passer, targeting, any judgement calls will go against us if it looks like it will make a difference at the end of the game.

Anyone that doubts that is in for a very rude awakening.

Of course, we have to keep it close for any of that to become a factor.

I don't know if its a conspiracy but the lack of holding calls boggled my mind a few yrs ago. Like a 9 game stretch with none called? Some kind of statistically impossible number.

Another way of saying this is...our guys have to REALLY make it hard on the refs to make those calls. If it's close, it's going to be called on LSU. If they are going to throw a flag, make them have to answer for it (for what good that will do, but still.) We can't have guys hitting CLOSE to late, or slightly pushing guys in their back or side on returns, etc.

Otherwise, flag city.

My prediction...this will be the game a Tiger finally picks up a targeting penalty, and it will be borderline, at best.

God, I remember the guys on Fox NFL were talking about this being a pick in the NFL, let alone college.

Of all the games I've seen, including shenanigans in Auburn, this was the hardest to stomach.

Exactly, and more importantly to the SEC, lots of money on the line if SEC is shut out of NC game. I can't see this being a game LSU can pull out at the end, regardless of how close it is or what plays we make, courtesy of the SEC - and I realize we may not be in a position to win at all, but if we are, we'll have to win big.

In 2011 the game was called very well. As was 2012.

and in 2011 & 2012 we both had comparable records;
not so in 2009 for either Arkansas or LSU. And I agree with the earlier poster. These two games may have been the biggest set ups in the history of the SEC, and the hardest to swallow.
