On Oct. 22, LSU Police Department officers responded to a fight near Broussard Hall. At the scene officers were approached by two subjects who said they were involved in a fight with another student, said LSUPD spokesman Capt. Cory Lalonde.
Witnesses identified Kavahra Holmes, 19, of 314 Armentine Cove, Breaux Bridge, as the man involved. Upon questioning, he admitted that he pushed and tackled one of the victims, Lalonde said. Holmes was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons for simple battery.
Holmes, a redshirt freshman on the LSU football team, has not played or registered a statistic this season.

Looks like another scholarship will be open soon.

Can he play safety or LB?

And are we really arresting kids for shite like this? Crazy. My brother and I would've been locked up a long time ago if they arrested people for tacking and pushing in public.

I agree with you on that for the most part.

But if you and your brother were on football scholarships, wouldn't y'all use more discretion when you have so much to lose? I know I would.

And video? I want to see if he wrapped the guy up or just put his shoulder into him and went for the big hit.

North Baton Rouge has basically turned into the Wild West but you'll sleep easier tonight knowing an LSU football player was arrested for tackling somebody.

eta: And that cop obviously isn't an LSU fan because he would've given that kid an award for actually making a tackle. :rimshot:

going to need around 8 kids to leave to make room for the February signing class, this gives them a nice reason to send him off if they don't feel he'll contribute later.

There will be several early departures on the offense (Landry, Beckham, Collins are all good bets) plus possibly Ego and Freak on Defense. The numbers game seems like it won't be too bad this year.

ETA and of course Hill
