If David Ortiz gets in the hall, does Bonds, A-Rod, Clemens, McGwire get in too?

It would only be fair.
If one known steroid user gets in, you have to put them all in.
No cherry picking.

Ortiz isn't a hall of famer regardless of PEDs. He's an average baseball player.

Are all 10x the player Ortiz is, so they certainly should

Amazing what he's doing at almost 40 isnt it....?

Ortiz will not sniff the Hall. Are those actually suggesting he will?

Barely 2k hits, didn't get 500 HR and is behind guys like Adam Dunn, Jason Giambi, and Konerko.
.287 career batting average - certainly not great.
65th all time in RBI's
Plus the steroid allegations. Don't really see how he has a strong case.

The fricking mad is palpable

There are two clear differences. Hard evidence, not a leaked name off a list by the media. And the fact that the other 3 are assholes and Ortiz is well liked, going to get different treatment.

It's not like Ortiz has the most ironclad case to begin with.

Ortiz admitted to testing positive for PEDs. I'm guessing you choose to believe him when he claims he's still trying to figure out why he tested positive.

It could've been adderall for all we know. Its not like the dude was skinny and became some hulk like other obvious steroid users.
Not sure a DH should ever get in, but if one does, he should be the first. The new Mr. October.

The media picks and chooses who to go after, and Ortiz isn't a good target

That doesn't change why the perception of the 4 players is different. And yea, with the ever changing drug testing policies and without even the name of the drug I'll give him the bbenefit of the doubt. But to me personally, I don't care if he did. But we're talking about how the media and fans have convicted certain players. Look at how Petitte got a free pass by being somewhat honest, Arod, Clemens, and Bonds dug their own grave in that regard.
