quote:

“My friend and I took our seats where I soon became acquainted with the most ignorant people in all of college football,” the player wrote, before detailing an experience that included fan criticism of the players, of coaches, and a confrontation when he asked them to stop.

Our fans are very different.

We are worse.

At least they were bitching about it at the game rather than online.

Definitely lowered himself to the level he's bashing. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Oregons fanbase is no different than any other successful program, including ours.

It is not a perfect world and anyone thinking it is, is in for a rude awakening. College football has become a business, but it is fueled on passion. Can the passion get the better of us, sure from time to time that is what passion does. But the passion is what pays the bills and allows these student/athletes to try and obtain their goals whether that be playing on Sunday's or a college education. Unfortunately you have to take the good with the bad because there really isn't a way to separate the two.

Good to know that these whinny bitches that say LSU fans are the worst, really don't know what the frick they are talking about. Fans are good and bad at all places because it involves passion, which is an emotion and sometimes emotions do get the better of people it is just human nature. But it sounds like every team gets a dose of fan frustration it is not just limited to LSU.

I feel better now!!!

Minus calling him a pussy, I agree with the rest of that first post. You get free school, free housing, get to be worshipped by fans, have top flight meals prepared for you, plus you have an opportunity to go to a multi million dollar profession. Cry me a river. Most kids only wish they had those benefits.

Every time that letter mentions Oregon fans, replace with The Rant, then its spot on.

You really think college football players were treated like slave gladiators?!?! Go read a history book. That's like saying blacks today are treated like they were in the 1700's. Utterly ridiculous.

The guy made one mention of the slave/gladiator thing. His entire letter was about shitty Oregon fans in the stands. And during another Oregon beatdown no less.

Miss the point much?

This is the thing...they don't have to play sports. How many would go to college w/o a scholarship? How many would get a degree w/o special tutoring that isn't as accessible to other students? I guess they don't truly know how good they have it...so they cry about how tough life is having everything laid out for them.

Hmmmmmm if that is really what you got out of the article, you truly need to work on your comprehension skills.

And what do you think would happen if a couple non dressed out LSU players went and sat in student section for a game??

They'd be in for a rude awakening too sadly. They are too insulated and most people (esp online) talk a lot of shite when they don't expect pushback.

I read the whole thing. Honestly he seemed to not understand that everybody loves a winner. To quote Ricky bobby, you've gotta win to get love. That's life in general. Not just football fans are guilty of this. Look at corporate America. If you can make a company money they'll treat you like a king and cut your throat as soon as you're not productive. That's life.
