Im thinking about getting a new duck gun in the future and was wondering what y'all think about it if you shoot beretta.

Might as well if you are already spending that kinda $$$$$. It works. Makes shooting 3.5"'s tolerable. However, if you don't shoot geese or skybust much, a 390 is much cheaper.

Love my A400 xtreme Unico - love it

But I duck hunt more than most - and the kick off makes for a nice day when you start getting older...like me.

The KO takes some getting used to.

I'm still not used to it, but anything to reduce recoil is a plus IMO. The effects of recoil are cumulative, so it's best to fight it with every bit you can.

Don't go half arse when purchasing guns. At least that's how I justify spending that much $$. The KO is sweet, though. Especially on goose hunts when mixing in 3.5's

I see a lot of shooters on the sporting clays fields with the KO system on A400's -- have yet to talk to a single one who dislikes it.

I bought an A400 when they first came out (3-4 years ago ??), and bought it without the KO system -- so I could have Ken Rucker install one of his "Autobuster" recoil reducers on it. The difference is that I can adjust the height & angle of the butt plate//recoil pad to fit me better.

If the A400 w/ KO fits you -- buy it.

Depending on how much you shoot, the "pogo-stick" feeling of the gun can be awkward when you're not used to it.

Seeing as I shoot 20 -30,000 rounds of target loads per year that really have no need for the KO system, it's really awkward to me those few times I go goose hunting and use the KO.

If you're planning on being mostly a target shooter, I would recommend the mercury recoil reduces, barrel weights, mag weights, stock weights, etc. before the KO.

If you're mostly a duck hunter (as suggested by the OP) then its probably worthwhile to get used to the KO since those heavy loads can really catch up to you recoil-wise.

and almost half the gun an Auto 5 is........
I kid the Beretta's are solid guns. Myself I'd save the cash and just put a Limbsaver on it. I know the limbsavers outdo comfortech and I'm sure for the price difference they'd outdo K/O too

Get the KO. That will be my next shotgun I'm just having trouble putting aside my 390 for it.

I have two 391s – one w KO and one w/o – I have the 391 w/o KO and gave the one w/o to my 17 yr old – the S on his chest is bright red and he’s 10’ tall and bullet proof so he doesn’t notice. Seriously, for target loads you don’t notice KO much but for duck loads whether 3 or 3.5” it’s the cats a**. It does pogo stick a bit but its very fast and I have not had an issue w/ it. This is my 2nd yr shooting a KO – I shot a lot of sporting clays w/ it this summer to put it thru its paces. You cannot go wrong w/ a wop B gun – between gas and kick off they are smooth. I shot a vinci a couple of weeks back and liked it as well

bonus part of doing this is that you can adjust the pull-length this way to get a better fit.
