Have the afternoon off and looking forward to this.

Fiorentina could use a home win against Napoli to keep early pace in the race for a CL spot.

Fiorentina isn't the most consistent side but when they're on, they play some of most attractive football in Europe with the smooth passing midfield of Pizarro, Valero and Aquilani, Cuadrado and Pasqual.

Fiorentina slicing through the Napoli midfield early on.

Hamsik is out for Napoli and Rafa's starting 2 strikers in Pandev and Higuian up top but they look dangerous on the counter.

Amazing counter attack goal from Callejon! as I type.

a little behind on my feed (had to pause) but really nice assist from Higgy on that goal. Fiorentina had been dominating too.

Yeah, classic from both sides. Napoli's quality on the counter and Fiorentina dominating chances but giving a goal on the counter.

Fiorentina level on a Rossi PK. Cuadrado hits the post a minute later . . .

Cuadrado can act annoying and make dumb passes but he's nearly unstoppable on that right wing.

nice penalty from Rossi. he's looked pretty good outside of the goal too. holds up the ball fairly well for a small guy.

Cuadrado has looked like the most talented player on the pitch to me. pretty much has done whatever he's wanted to out there.

I avoid mentioning it here since it would be such a sore subject but since no one will look in a Serie A thread:
Rossi has returned, so far, much better than before he was injured, unbelievably good so far this year.
Deadly with chances but also dribbling though waves of defenders almost Messi-like. I wish Roma would have taken the chance on him instead of Fiorentina.

Wow... what a goal from Mertens! He hasn't gotten a lot of PT so far behind Insigne but he looked really good against Marseilles as well.

yeah i watched some of him early and was really impressed. i brought him up as someone we should definitely target (if he keeps looking this good) in the arsenal thread. crazy disagreed with me, but i'm not sure how much of him he's watched this year (though part of his concern was injuries, which is fair).

Rossi - Ive been curious... but heaven forbid bring that subject up on this board. I kinda thought he was never going to be the same... good for him!

Cuadrado is amazing...

I may try and catch Hellas Verona since we are tracking Jorginho and Juam Manuel iturbe (on loan from Porto)

He was an amazing deal for €10m but now that he's looking like Messi-lite the likely price tag may not be worth the risk he re-injures that knee.

What he offers is rare though when he's in form as he can pass, hold up, score but also blast by numerous defenders in that central position.

It will be interesting to see how he plays with a target #9 when Mario Gomez returns (and with Balotelli for Italy).

Wasn't he dead set on playing in Italy? Fiorentina has made some great deals the past couple of summers..

Both of those guys have looked really good so far. They're going to be on a lot of larger team's wish lists. Jorginho has had some moments of sheer brilliance in the few matches I've been able to watch.

He'd probably be better off to stay at Verona for at least another season though I doubt he will if big offers come in. They'll probably try to solidify their roster a bit more to push for the upper mid table next season and this is just Jorginho's first year in Serie A.

Yeah... I'm sure a big offer from a big club may have swayed him but it seemed that Fiorentina and Roma were the clubs he asked his agent to negotiate with.

They have. It's odd as a Roma fan because they hired Daniele Prade who was Roma's SD before the American owners came in and he's made so many deals that were the main Roma rumors of 2/3 years back:

Borja Valero, Cuadrado, Aquilani, Rossi, Gonzalo Rodriguez and getting David Pizarro and Montella as manager.

They kind of seem like an alternate universe transfer forum Roma.

Borja Valero is probably the best move they've made among so many good ones. He's just a consummate team player that makes everyone around him better.
