The LSU Tiger head first appeared on the helmet in 1972 and is still used today. The licensee mark has been used on merchandise. The 2013 mark is a refresh introduced on the LSU Basketball court and uniforms.

I will always prefer the 72' head, but this is so much better than Toonces that frankly I don't care about the changes.

I think I like the new one better than the '72 one.

I think this is the first time where I like a new logo better than an old one. Death to Toonces!

The one in the middle is the best of the three. It's a freshened up version of the old one that doesn't look "all new" or "improved". Just fresh.

Kind of like the bottom three logos in this pic. Updates that look good and keep the basic logo fresh and current without killing it or trying to "reinvent".

Agreed. This definitely needs to replace Toonces. Nice work on modernizing and cleaning up the tiger head.

That's really cool. Did you make that, or did that come from somewhere?

I would like the 2013 more if it incorporated more white mane, like the middle one. The 1972 one is the worst... too busy and too indistinct from a distance to be an effective logo.
