Since 2000, we pretty much have had the upper hand
8-5....
with as many MNC appearances, more SEC titles, more SEC west titles, more SEC wins. Most wins of any SEC school.
We still sit on top of the SEC in this millenium......Yet- it's not good enough...

Did I flame or post something that was not true? Just saying it was convenient to pick 1982 as a starting date considering the 18 years prior to that Bama was 16-2.

quote:what I am saying is that since 1982, the series is basically even...LSU stunk for a portion of that time frame (pre-Saban)...it goes both ways.
So what you're saying is, if we leave out Bamas best years but included their worst years then we only lose by 1
By the way, you seem like someone who is going to enjoy my write up on bogus national title claims that some schools make...

Back then no one questioned it. It was Bama and everyone else back then. Florida changed the SEC in the 1990s.
And I honestly don't think any of those 1970 or 1960 teams could beat even an average SEC school
in this millenium.

Another interesting way to break it down:
LSU is 9-4 at Tuscaloosa over that time frame. I've heard a lot of ESPN analysts talk about how Bama is fortunate to have LSU at Tuscaloosa this year. I'm certain none of them are aware of the success that the visiting team had in this rivalry.
Another thing I'm certain of: Bama has to lose to someone. Why not us...

1/3 OF THE GAMES SINCE 2005 WENT INTO OT.
That's pretty cool stat.

I went to the Ohio State drumming of Penn State this past weekend and got to talk to Trevor Matich...I told him about the visiting team dominating the series and asked him to be the one informed voice at ESPN that does not assume that Bama wins home games against LSU. He took the input seriously. One "expert" at a time...

Chicken admitted as much in the OP.

I wonder how the SEC rant would feel about this?

I wonder how the "Away Field" advantage in this rivalry matches up with other rivalries.

he explained why he started with that year. It was Bear Bryant's last game against LSU, thus closing that chapter in the series and starting a new one, which is essentially even...pay attention!

Yeah, if you take out the Cholly Mac years, it's pretty even.

Interesting stats. I did not know Saban was 5-1 against Bama. Wow.
9-4 in the overall LSU-BAMA match up.

Wait. What's wrong with hand bras? It's not nudity.

1982 was my freshman year at LSU. That game lead to Bear Bryant quitting football. Alabama had 0 first downs at half. Bryant drank himself to death early 1983. Game was on espn replay only(no live broadcast)

That 82 game was a glorious fantastic beatdown
Les Miles is 3-1 @ Tuscaloosa, interesting

W/O evening looking it up, that has to be LSU's best run on them in history.

Was the first game in a 30+ year timespan that LSU beat Bama in Baton Rouge. LSU was jinxed at home vs Bama until Saban broke that curse. The next game in BR 2002 , however, was the most lopsided LSU loss vs Bama 31-0.
Then LSU went on a 5 game win streak until Saban led Bama to a victory, in Baton Rouge off course.

One of my worst experiences in Tiger Stadium, maybe the worst. It was so fricking cold.
