I hate the fact he felt the need to test the NFL waters and left LSU.

I hate the fact he ended up at Alabama after testing those NFL waters.

But, I've never hated him for taking that job or the subsequent 'competition' its brought to LSU football.

Hate doesn't enter into it. At such time as he leaves the red team, he will cease to matter to me. For now, he is the enemy and must be destroyed.

I would hope that no one really "hates" Saban. I think most of us simply hate the success he's brought to a divisional rival. It's tough to game out "alternative history", but I could easily see at least one more MNC, one more SEC title, and one-two more west titles if Saban had stayed in the NFL.

I think he's an amazing coach.

That said, I think he's probably the biggest jerk out there.

I don't "hate" him but I do not like him. At all.

I respect what he did at LSU.

I've been saying it for years, it's only a matter of time before he leaves Tuscaloosa for more money.

I respect him as a coach, and I'm grateful for what he helped to accomplish at LSU.

While I wished he hadn't left when he did, I actually was pulling for him to succeed in the NFL as it felt like it would also be a win for LSU.

However, when he willing courted and eventually took a college coaching job at not only an SEC program but an SEC WEST program, I hoped he'd get crotch rot...real bad. frick him with a chainsaw for that bullshite.

He was obviously free to do whatever he wanted to do, but I heard from enough people in the know at the time to know that the guy was GENUINELY clueless as to why LSU fans were so pissed about it. It never dawned on the guy that we might, you know, take it personally that he decided to take a job where, by definition, he would be working daily to tear down what he built here.

And, as someone said, I really dislike liars.

and did he really expect LSU to fire our head coach and hire him back?

If your wife gave you the best years of your life, and a child that you loved, but then fricked your boss and ran away with him, to only eventually marry your close friend... would you hate her?

That thought never crossed his mind. Seriously.

He couldn't care less.

Give me the $$$ I want, I'll be there.

He's not a Tiger, he's not a Crimson Tide elephant or whatever they are.....

All he wants is the money.

Now he is a great coach, which is what I stated a few posts ago but he doesn't care about any particular program or anything.

This thread wouldn't be complete without a terrible analogy or two.

I think he has gotten better as a Coach. I do not think he was the same Coach at Michigan State as he was at LSU and I think going to the Dolphins and now Alabama he has developed into a good coach. I think he should get recognition for that and I think everywhere he has been he has learned and progressed. From here on is up to Nick Saban. I know Texas has a lot of money and I have heard some big numbers if they are true. We will see after the Season. I heard a number like 20 Million and his own Private Jet. If he is actually hit with those numbers it will interesting to see what he does.

I hate that he got the job at bama. I hate he turned a walkover game to an annual death match. I hate the fact that Bama denied us a 3rd bcs crystal ball. I hate the fact we are now playing second fiddle to bama. I used to hate auburn,,,now its bama.

Don't hate Saban. I thank him for what he did for our program. I want LSU to beat him and whoever we are playing. Our coaching staff needs to step up and get the job done. If not we will move on and find someone who can or wait for Saban to leave or except the fact he will beat us more often than not.

He stands on the other side of an ethical line that I will not cross. Never screw people who treated you well in the past. It is one thing to take another job, if you use a past position, the contacts and environment it provided, to harm people who treated you well, you are scum.

Saban was treated well and deferred to here, he now uses the recruiting bases we provided him to take prime athletes away from LSU.

If I leave company A and start company B, I stay away from the customer base of company A. This costs in the short term, but has long term benefits.

I have close friends in the LSU administration, Saban would go out of his way to let people know he was in charge, he made people miserable if he could. I feel sorry for the jerk, no matter what he achieves it will never be enough, he will always be miserable.

But I hated Bama and their fans long before Saban, Harvey Updyke is not the exception, he is the rule.

Hated him when he was at LSU. He was such a dick and it was verified after the Tigers beat OU and he refused to celebrate with the players.
