Sweet potatoes

Who ever suggested cooking them at 450 for 20 min then @350 for an hour in a thread a week or so ago.....

Was spot on, done them twice and came out perfect both times

Sweet potatoes...

Love them baked, with butter and cinnamon.

A word of caution:

Always best to make sure they are polled.

My grandfather was a famous sweet potato grower in Isola, Mississippi back in the early 1950s. everyone wanted to buy his polled sweet potatoes. He always said that he would take a big heavy poll and roll it back and forth over them to squeeze out the farts.



Sorry - rural humor. Maybe Farmer humor. Not sure which. Maybe both.

try boiling them in the a.m., refrigerate, peel, slice, fry in butter, sprinkle finished tops w/cinnamon-sugar


btw, I always poll mine, I didn't know what that was called
