OT maybe? I never did halves outside if NOLA, what's the point.
PS- I take that back, I did Hotlanta, but I had done a real run earlier.

These OBers never go outside....... You may want to try the OT.

don't run a half in the summer in LA

should be plenty in the spring, just look in your local area

the RnR in NOLA, the Baton Rouge half, and numerous local events

If you're looking for a weekend getaway, try the Seaside Half Marathon in Florida. It's usually in early march. Laid back and scenic course on 30A.

I concur with the Mardi Gras Marathon if you want to stay local.

Nevilletiger,
Been a few years since I last ran it, but the Oklahoma City Marathon/Half Marathon at the end of April is a nice run and memorable event. It's held in recognition of the OKC bombing. It's a BIG event w/ close to 16K runners/walkers participating. I've not run an exhaustive check lately, but the OKC run is usually the last marathon/half marathon in the part of the south until some smaller ones in early fall.

I do one with my daughter every year. This year we go to Gulf Shores on Feb 23rd. The last couple years was Mardi Gras here. Forget summer halfs; you should be fishing or swimming then, frick summer distance running.
