Of all the places ya'll name and talk about the boudin and cracklins, does anyone ever buy the smoked sausage. I need a lot for a cook-off this Saturday (not pre-packaged grocery store)

T-bays pure pork in basile is pretty freaking hard to beat. That being said, guillorys pork/jalapeno/pepperjack in pine prairie or pineville is my all around favorite. Amazing flavor.

Hard to argue with that.

Wait, do they use salt? If so I am out.

My fave smoked sausages (not andouille) Verdun's meat market in Raceland, Bourgeois in Thib, Wayne Jacobs Smokehouse in Laplace, and Bergeron's in Port Allen.

We used smoked for everything in Eunice. Lejeune's sausage is pretty damn hard to beat.

Hard to beat NuNu's. Pork and Steen syrup, Pork and strawberry, Pork and pineapple, Pork and apple, Rib eye sausage. Jalapeno and cheese sausage, chicken sausage, Buffalo Chicken sausage. Cheese spinach and pork sausage. Green onion sausage. I'm sure I missed a few but this is what I can remember. I'm a huge fan of Steen syrup and the strawberry sausage myself.

These are all raw sausage.

Are you smoking these yourself?

"Smoked Meat Capital of the World" Ville Platte, actually I'd say all of Evangeline parish. T-Boys, B&S, Paul's,Teets, Leroy's, and the other million little stores throughout the parish that all have a meat market and smoke house.

I grew up about five miles from there, so if I'm around that part of the world, yes. If not, Richard's is my go-to.

pork/jalapeno in Pine Prairie
garlic pork from Lejuene's in Eunice
Charlie's hot in Mamou

NuNu's also has some good flavored stuff as mentioned above but its probably better for a cookout with beer watching the Tigers beat Bama
