Oregon jumping FSU is proof that voters don't actually watch games

FSU 49-17 over NC state
Oregon 42-14 over UCLA

Might seem similar. Expect that FSU was up 35-0 in the first, and Oregon was tied at halftime and the game was close well into the 4th. Basically proves that running up the score is important, which is just stupid. So glad the BCS is done after this year.

FSU is the complete team. They would beat Oregon/Alabama easily.

Completely agree. People see Oregon win 42-14 but fail to realize that their "unstoppable" offense was completely shut down by a talented but inexperienced UCLA defense almost all game.

Or maybe it was because FSU was just *barely* ahead of Oregon last week, and Oregon's win against a ranked team this week pushed them above FSU.

It's mostly a result of the computers shifting after Oregon beat a Top 20 team versus FSU beating a team with a losing record. They did lose one first-place vote in the Coaches Poll and two in the Harris Poll (all three presumably to Oregon), but the overall shift in the polls was small.

FSU deserves to be second. Much better shot at Bama than the Quacks.

Bama squashes Oregon 49-28

Bama/FSU play a good, 31-28 type game. Think SECCG last year.

Their win against UCLA wasn't a tenth as impressive as FSU's hammering of Clemson.

While that's true, FSU beating Clemson propelled them past Oregon last week even though both teams won.

This win this week for Oregon was enough to put them back at #2.

FSU has been playing catch-up from the beginning.

I have had Oregon as the number 1 team all season up until last week.. I truly believe FSU is better all around. That QB is just unreal good and they got a pretty legit D.

I would go Alabama, FSU, Oregon atm.. and I like FSU and Oregon to go undefeated the easiest.

I'm still not fully on the FSU bandwagon.

I really don't think Clemson is a great measuring stick, I fully expect them to be exposed again when they play South Carolina.

Florida State has put up some gaudy numbers but they aren't really beating anyone to make me think they're great...and that includes the Miami game this week.

Oregon on the other hand has beaten 2 decent teams, not great but I do think UCLA and Washington beat anyone on FSU's schedule.

Media hyped Oregon. It's really annoying because FSU had a much more impressive win than any of Oregon's wins.

Clemson was so overrated after beating a pre-season media darling Georgia who fell off the map - no doubt Oregon would whomp them too.

Oregon jumped back to the #2 because of the computers. Oregon has been #2 in the human polls why would they drop?

UCLA was #12 in the country - what the hell is NC State?

Ducks played horrible in the 1st half and still rolled. That's the sign of a great team.

The Ducks had a punt blocked in their own territory and fumble at their opponent's five-yard line in the second half.

Plus, UCLA's two touchdowns, both of which came in the first half, were facilitated by short fields set up by the forced fumble and subsequent blocked punt.

Apart from those two short fields for UCLA - the Ducks shut them OUT! Goose-egg!

The Ducks encountered a formidable UCLA defense on Saturday, committed multiple turnovers and had a punt blocked ... and STILL finished with 555 total yards to win 42-14.

I think everyone here is holding Oregon to a higher standard than everyone else in the country. If they don't win 70-0 - it's - '0h, they aren't that good.'

BTW, Oregon rolled Tennessee just like Bama did too - but Oregon scored more.

Yeah, UGA was extremely overrated. Their performance this year has had nothing to do with losing half their team.

While we're on this overrated topic, how is UGA considered overrated and UCLA is not? Who has UCLa played other than an awful Nebraska team? Stanford?

I hope the standing stay the same so we can see a FSU meltdown. Neither team would beat bama in a title game. Give Saban 40+ days to prepare and he will win no doubt.

UCLA can't score worth a crap on any decent team.

Washington has fallen apart after the Stanford loss.

If all 3 remain undefeated it will be Bama vs Oregon

FSU looks great but I think the strength of schedule will hurt them

I'd rather see Alabama vs. Florida State myself, but I'd love to see the reactions of FSU fans if their team went 13-0 and got left out of a NCG

FSU is significantly better than Oregon. Bugger, better athletes, better qb, better speed on defense. Oregon absolutely should be the one of the 3 left out.
