Does anyone know of some good hiking trails?? I'm from Atlanta and there is an endless amount of places to hike along the Chattahoochee and places like Kennesaw and Stone Mountain! I'm also looking for pretty spots to hammock in! My ENO has become my favorite purchase of all time in the last three years that I have had it! If anyone wants to hike or ENO let me know!!! I'm an LSU student and I think its time that I meet people with similar interests.

Wild azalea trail near Alexandria. Hammocks welcome.
Clark creek in Mississippi. But no camping allowed. Not much close to Baton Rouge.

The Louisiana hiking club website has lots of choices on their website. You should come to a meeting next month.

I haven't lately, but lead some of their hikes in the Central La area. Wild azalea trail, Backbone trail, etc. my dad is in the group in BR and some times leads hikes in the Fla Parishes.

I hike with them. They are a pretty laid back bunch.

Port Hudson is a good trail.

I'd go to port Hudson in the afternoon. Early morning is chock full of spiderwebs across the trail, and and Alx can tell you, they freak me out a bit.
I've also been reading about the new BREC area between the Amite and Comite Rivers. Supposed to be some nice hiking in there, but the get really off the beaten path you'd have to go to Chicot or Wild Azalea Trail.
Nov. 9 the LHC is hiking at Palmetto State Park, which is over near Lafayette. In January 11th they hike Tunica Hills, which should be nice then.
