So it's going to be old school and new school?

What's the story on this?
Is this the sequel to first class?

Yes, and no. It's a clean up job that basically will throw out everything other than First Class and Wolverine's origins (as in WWII and his transformation, but 3 mile island never happened). Expect a Back to the Future type of time travel, with time folding on itself.

Yeah. They run into the old cast when they travel to the future to save mutants from this guy

I don't think they are throwing out anything except the third movie. But I think at the end of the last wolverine, wolverine was shocked to see that magneto had his powers, so we really don't know yet. We do know it's based on comics and involves time travel. So anything can happen.
I mean it could be Marvel Universe 228 or 1309 and no one would really know.

Does anyone know how the film rights work for Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch? I understand that Fox has the rights to X-Men and Disney The Avengers, but can characters who typically appear in both story lines be used by both Fox and Disney? Perhaps the original Marvel-Fox licensing deal (executed long before Disney acquired Marvel and began producing Marvel films) gave Fox the exclusive film rights to the major X-Men characters and certain other characters were non-exclusive? My understanding is that Quicksilver will appear in both "Days of Future Past" and "Age of Ultron", albeit played by two different actors.

Fox can use them but can't mention any of their ties to the Avengers.
Disney can use them but can't reference that they are mutants or Magneto is their father

Interesting. Do any other characters fall into a similar "quasi-exclusive" deal or are the other non-Disney Marvel characters' rights more clear cut? Since Fox's rights on Daredevil and Punisher expired, and Disney's deal with Paramount to fully secure The Avengers characters' rights, only X-Men (Fox) and Spider-Man (Sony) are outside of Disney, correct?

Not really sure what to think of this movie. I loved First Class and thought it was way better than the 3 X Men movies that came out in the early 00s. Not sure how it's going to pan out with mixing the old and new cast.

Pretty sure Fox still owns Fantastic Four as well. They're on a pretty tight timetable to pump out another one of those films before the rights revert back to Marvel. I know it was rumored to be filmed in BR at one point, but I think that it was delayed.

I'd like to see a reboot of fantastic four. Make it...less shitty.

Blue nips and Tyrion all in the same movie. Gotta be. A hit.

i wouldnt be shocked if marvel beats fox to the punch and places quicksilver and scarlet witch in a movie or the shield tv show before the xmen movie laying claim to the rights to the characters rights since they used them first, then if fox keeps them in the xmen movie they sue fox for using its characters.

There be any litigation as this isn't an issue for either studio. They both can use the characters and both have cast a Quicksilver(and Avengers 2 has a Scarlet Witch).
Rumor is that instead of calling them mutants in Avengers, the label will be "Registered Gifted".
