I'll drop this here, before it heads to the More Sports Board...
If ULM would step up it would end all of this nonsense. They are in the same conference, and they could let it be known that the Cajuns are not "Louisiana". But for some reason, the adminstration in Monroe is full of vagina.

Talking to ULM really brings up a valid point that dropping the Lafayette (even though it was suppose to be in the name) can be offensive to those who actually follow the rules and get the short end of the stick. Its bullshite.

When this 1st happened, all of the schools in the UL system were given this option. Randy Moffit was pres at SLU at the time. He was concerned that if SLU went the route of ULH that the school would get lost in the mix, especially if one school tried to brand themselves UL. We can all see this is exactly how it has played out. It is really unfortunate that ULL has continuously pushed this agenda.

I'm an LSU fan and alum, but you know what's even more ridiculous, that LSU fan's are so desparate to have a "rival" that they acually get bent out of shape about the actions of directional school. There is no rivaly between ULL, Louisiana, etc. and LSU. Stop trying to manufacture one. This isn't Auburn v. Alabama, Ole Miss v. Miss. St., Florida v. Florida St.

This is a silly arguement. I'm not bent out of shape as an LSU fan as much as I am due to being a Louisianian... ULL knew they were renaming as ULL along with ULM but decided to try and change it to make them sound superior. To me it's not about LSU but it is about the Louisiana higher education system.

Sounds like a case of little brother syndrome. They are trying to be bigger than what they are. Monroe needs to step up, they have just as much right to louisiana if that's what they want to be called.
