That doesn't look like it works worth a shite. It'd be like hanging a chainsaw from a rope with the bar down and trying to cut bushes. There's no way that's practical.

The guy probably had prior notice and didnt realize they aould be coming through with a giant chainsaw hanging from a choppa. That Sure would be nice to have to cut shooting lanes though.

Did he not hear it in plenty of time to safely get down instead of jumping? Or was he "standing his ground?"

The video is pretty shitty. Nobody cares what the chopper is doing. I want to see that thing cut some shite.

Better video of Hellachainsaw

Okay, I can see it working in this video but the first vid just showed it being lowered into a group of trees.

Yea it kicks arse in that video.

I could use one of those. I have a few lanes I'd like to clean up.

I like all the people in the comments claiming it was his property. No, the right of way and maintaining the right of way is Duke's responsibility.

Probably the same people who would bitch if the power went out because they didn't maintain the lines.

wut

It was his property. He should've been notified that he may have been sliced in half by a flying death machine. Doesn't seem like too much to ask...

I was in an airboat working near Blind River Bar in graduate school when they came down a powerline with one of those trimming limbs once. I had never heard of such thing. Ol boy I was with new what it was luckily, and said it was time to go for the day. Pretty wild stuff.

With a granted right of way on it... no notification needed to excercise your rights of ingress and egress.

Happened to a buddy of mine. Tree trimming track machince backed into his box stand and tore it to pieces. He contacted the pipeline company and they informed him he had place an unauthorized structure on their R.O.W.. He asked me about the legality of it since I abstract for a living. I had to tell him they were right. He had the same "it's my property" mentality.

He should've just read the ROW/Easement agreement. It's stated pretty plainly.

And, no, the power company can't notify every individual owner along a transmission line every time that they will be doing maintenance.

However, if in the course of doing maintenance they do any damage outside of the ROW, they are liable. I was involved in a suit in the marsh over damage by marsh buggies working along/around a utility easement.
