This guy obviously freaking gets it. Too bad ?the NFL will probably be looking to fine him if he so much as look at an offensive player ?the wrong way next game. How dare he bring logic into ?the conversation

What is annoying is the lack of coverage on this article. It doesn't fit the narrative like that documentary that came a week or 2 ago, so no one talks about it.
I would of had no idea about it if it wasn't for one of the local sports radio guys bringing it up to mock the fact that no one is talking about it.

I'm sure the NFL or any profession used the " well you knew the risks" defense already when trying to shed liability. New results from research of concussions are coming out everyday, but let's take A cornerbacks opinion. Would Sherman be willing to testify on the NFLs behalf in midst of getting sued. Will his any man on the streets opinion have any weight, like nobody has ever thought about the tired old dribble every other person would say

Even when you ask all the old players who are bitching the most about "not knowing," when they're asked whether they would still play knowing what they know now, they pretty much all say, "Yeah, I'd still play."
Having said that, they KNEW. They knew damn well that they would have serious medical issues when they got older. They could see the older players and boxers -- they even had a term for it -- "punch drunk."
And, if there's ANY doubt, how many players today have quit because of what we now know?
Sure, you have the Troy Aikman's of the football world who retire a few years early. But, he was still playing after 6 or 7 major concussions. For many of these guys, football is all they know.

His point, which makes sense, runs into trouble when you consider that players often take performance-enhancers, sometimes illegal, that result in harder hits to vulnerable body parts, and some of those players were part of a class-action lawsuit against the NFL. Maybe the players should take responsibility for that, too.

What about the evidence that the NFL knew about how dangerous concussions were and withheld that information? Is that not a little different than what Richard is saying?

NFLPA also withheld that information, but the players know about it now. How many have decided to call it quits since then?
