On sale for $240 - 6 tool Ryobi One 18 volt tool set

I know Dewalt is better, but I've lived in my house for 2 years and only have used a drill 2 or 3 times. I don't need to best when it comes to this. Thoughts?

The ryobis are fine for light household duty IMO
The lithiums can sit on the shelf for 6 months and still have a charge when you pick em up

Do it! I know as long as your livelyhood depends on it what difference does it make if they aren't yellow and black. I work for a large industrial contractor and we spend close to $4 million a year on power tools, yes they are Dewalt, but the goons that use ours can tear up an anvil. I see no need for homeowners that aren't contractors to spend that kind of $ on tools they'll use a few times a month.

EDT: the circular saw is a life saver on small projects. I had no idea how much I use my porter cable set.

I don't have the set but have the drill, impact driver, and sawzall. Extremely pleased with performance of all three, batteries are good, performance is good.

No complaints so far.

I'm sure ryobi is good. I bought a porter cable 4 pc for like 130 a couple years back and it is going strong.

For light household use the Ryobi will be fine.

I have almost all their tools and love them. They last for a pretty good while and the yard tools like the electric chainsaw and hedge clippers etc are awesome

I'm a superintendent with a retail commercial contractor. I'm seeing more Ryobi tools even though they are still in the minority to dewalt and makita.
Price point has to be a big factor - some cost half or less than the others. Also they won't get stolen.
For homeowners they're all you ever need.

I've had the old black and decker 18v set for almost 5 years and thought it was fine. I consider myself a experienced DIYer. I've just recently upgraded to the Rigid set and really like it. But for homeowner grade the Ryobi will be fine.

When I upgraded instead of buying a kit I just got the tools I used most. I rarely if ever used the cordless circular saw. I prefer my corded circular saws for the power.

You can try DirectTools in Gonzales across from Cabelas. They usually have really good deals on refurb and new power tools like that.
