I think Slam's list is better (just looked at it), but I don't agree with either list 100%.

Kobe's ranking should probably be an average of the two lists(16ish).

Gasol at 18 is more accurate than 10, which is what espn ranked him.

Melo should be lower in Slam's list, but not as low as espn.

Curry at 10 is more likely than 6.

If you going to give Kobe the benefit of the doubt and rank him higher, than he has to be better than Carmelo. Curry is pretty much where he should be at ESPN. Gasol dominates a game without jacking up 20 shots a night. I'd have him 12th, but if he plays how he did in the playoffs than he is top 10 for sure.

The best Center in the league should be in the top 10 of any list IMO

Most feel that a healthy Howard is still the best center in the league.

This list is laughably bad. Not one of Kobe, Melo, or Parker in the top 10 is just terrible.

The real list is

LeBron

Durant

Everyone else

is not a top 10 player.

LBJ
Durant
then some mix of
Harden
Howard
Paul
Parker
Westbrook
Curry
Duncan
Rose

Melo isn't better than any of these guys and there still quite a few better than him I haven't listed.
Kobe's Achilles tendon tear takes him out of the conversation until further notice.

No Tony Parker, really?.

ESPN sucks at covering the NBA all they care about is flash, look at that list the only one that surprises me they recognized is Gasol

DWade is not a top five guard anymore, much less top five in NBA.
of course he is.

During the win streak, he put up ridiculous numbers, the injury set him back in the playoffs.

Melo was arguably a top 5 player last year.

based on what? The Knicks built their roster around Melo's flaws (defense, passing). They moved him inside to PF (which is great), but he's too lazy of player on D. The ball stops with him, too. At least Harden runs the offense and is a willingly passer. Melo thinks winning means he takes the most shots.

Which is shame because he could have been a much better player.
