It was a close game and one play here or there could have been the difference. First, although Hillard played very well, he is not of the caliber of Hill. If Hill is in,perhaps he takes to the house on a run or at least breaks off a couple of long runs. You almost come to expect it with him now. Hillard is not going to do that. We needed big play on offense, especially in the first half. Second, if we run the offense that worked so well for us for most of the season, up to the Florida game, perhaps we have a better chance of scoring more points than by lining up in the power I and trying to pound Ole Miss. Third, if Louis plays the whole game, as good as he looked in his limited role, it is hard to believe he doesn't get at least a few stops that went right by Welter. If those decisions would have taken place, which is what I think 99% of all coaches in college football would have done all 3, I think we win easily.

Also want to say I am a big backer of Miles and believe he is one of the top coaches in college football, but I think he dropped the ball on this one.

By throwing the three interceptions or by not being able to get the defense off the field on 3rd and long?

No not at all. Ole miss 2nd string was more talented than LSU.

It was over due to happen, gonna have a bad game here or there. Doesn't mean you change your offense or go into a shell. What you do is have your QB coach talking to him on the headphones after the first one and trying to focus him. I think he got to use to his recievers making great catches and just thought he could throw it up for grabs, which maybe you still can, with Landry

maybe Louis makes a tackle here or there that Welter doesn't get to and we get a stop. One stop would have changed the outcome

Guys not ready to play. Coaches not ready to coach.

LSU will lose at least one game they shouldn't every year. Unless we have a roster full of experienced future draft picks. Freeze & staff coached circles around Miles &crew.

Get used to it.

I would think our defensive coordinator may be the better person to make that call.

dispite the 3 interceptions, when we opened the offense back up in the second half, we scored points

Excellent question.

Yes, coaching decisions absolutely cost us this game. Not in the conventional sense, as I don't think the actually gameday decisions had much effect on the outcome (even if Miles had called a TO with 30 seconds left, we still would have needed a miracle).

I think it was the coaching decisons in the week leading up to the game that cost us.

It really seemed like the coaches thought this would be an easy win and left the team completely unprepared for a dogfight.

And Miles does this crap every year, which is the main reason people are growing wearry of him.

In game coaching? Probably not. Evidently we were doomed eventually.

Long-term? yeah coaching has cost a shot at a NC the last 3 years at least.

I didn't see any in game calls that cost is the game. That's the same offense we've run all year, difference is Mett usually hits those throws and backs defenders out of the box.

Once we wasted those possessions with turnovers in the first half we had to abandon the run game outside of the redzone because our defense wasn't stopping anyone for us to be able to rely on the running game.

Ultimately all losses are on the coaches but I don't think there were any terrible play calls or decisions.

We could have blitzed a little. This 3rd and Chavis is getting ridiculous....

no it wasn't. It was the same offense we ran against Florida.
