Les Miles: Over his time with LSU Les has proven that he is a great recruiter, great at scouting talent, and most importantly a great talent developer. He has turned more 3* into NFL caliber players than anyone I know of, and has done a great job of keeping the LA talent that he wants in-state, despite what the negatigers think (nb4cameronrobinson, nb4landoncollins). That being said, he is almost undoubtedly the worst clock manager in the NCAA and his arrogance to change the game plan is frustrating beyond belief. The decline will never begin under his reign IMO, but the only NCs will come with great coaching jobs from the coordinators or with 2011 type talent (maybe a halfway decent QB would help too)

John Chavis: Chavis has proven to be a very good coordinator.... When he has the talent... I have seen many people say he lacks against spread teams. I don't think thats entirely true, and Oregon, TAMU, and WVU games point to that. However, what do those games look like without TM7 making plays constantly, without 2 really fast DEs, without a Kevin Minter at LB, and without Eric Reid roaming the field? I am not a fan of his system, and I think the defense would be much better without it. Granted, I personally love a 3-4, but that's not a short-term answer to our woes on defense. I just find his blitz packages to be incredibly predictable, his personnel groupings to be extremely questionable, and 3rd and Chavis is a real thing...

Cam Cameron: Cam has done a great job with our offense this year. If he can have this kind of success with OBJ and Landry, it will be scary to see what he can do with some of these young guys and incoming freshman (if they commit). Hopefully we can pull in LF, and Jennings will continue to progress. If so we may be looking at some of the most dynamic offensive players in years. My one negative comment on Cameron (and IDK how much of this is LES or Cameron) is that this is not the NFL. The college game is much more sideline to sideline than the NFL game because the hashes are much wider. Also, at LSU your linemen will be able to impose their will on a good amount of teams, especially Ole Miss 2nd string. Why not spread the field out and run the ball from the shotgun? On most of our run plays our Oline does a good job, but simple physics will show you its harder to run when 18 guys are in a small area than when only 12 are there. We have the personnel to be unstoppable, now do it.

Well you are the first to state all of this.

Well, the first in the last 5 minutes or so.

I completely agree. I just don't get why we don't run more out of spread sets.

I think les is just as stupid as the next guy, but the guys knows how to take good players and make them NFL guys. The only reason I want him to stay here is my fear that it's really easy to hire a guy that will win less than 10 games a year, and really hard to get a guy who will win more than that.
