I know this has been discussed here already, but I need a place to go shoot today. Thanks

Hunter's run has a rifle range but it's not always open. Could always make the drive to Sherburne.

Hunters run is closed on Mon and Tue. May ride to Sherburn

And you have to be a member to shoot on the pistol or rifle range.
Sherburne is your best bet. And it's free.

Check out the Ascension Parish Sheriffs range (next to Lamar Dixon). Open to public on Thursday afternoons I believe.

I had no clue about this.
Do they let you bring your own steel or shoot their steel? Or is it paper only?
/hijack.

You've been given incorrect information on Hunter's Run.
They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. So if you gotta go today, you're SOL.
You don't have to be a member at HR to use the rifle range - that's one of two options.
The second option is to go as a guest of a member. But the member has to accompany the guest, and be physically present at the rifle range while the guest shoots.
I didn't notice if Precision was mentioned. They have a 25 yard rifle tunnel. That'll get you on paper, and if you have a good ballistics calculator, you can get awfully close to the zero you're looking for.

I'd make the drive out to Sherburne. Should be very little people there on a week day. I'm trying to head there one day this week to get mine all lined up

Have to be a member to shoot at rifle/pistol range

Well no, you don't have to be a member. Option 1 = $250 (maybe $200 - don't recall exactly) for a new membership plus hourly range fee.
Option #2 only requires an hourly range fee.
Hope that's easy enough for everybody to understand. Folks on this board who are members or who have actually been to Hunter's Run probably understood the first post.
I've taken friends and family members over there numerous times so they could sight in a rifle, or just shoot handguns.

Anywhere along Choctaw Drive. You'll fit right in with the other gun fire and you'll be amazed at how few shots it will take to get it zeroed in! At least thats how I saw it when I had to retrieve my stolen car.
