houston shoots a shite ton from far. i see d12 showing slight frustration from not getting the rock down low. is it possible for them to continue their great long ball play and have d12 put up good numbers or even dominate.

I guess they think the 3 point shooting will clear the lane for DH, doesn't seem like it will work if they try to play Asik and Howard at the same time though.

Actually, a strong long range game helps him. That Orlando team that made it to the Finals did serious damage from the 3.

If they have Asik and Dwight in at the same time it will crowd the frick out of the lane for Harden and Lin that's for sure

I think the issue with Houston this year is they were very successful last season playing fast. That is the complete opposite style that needs to be played for Dwight needs to play in for him to be successful.

Plus I don't think McHale is that good of a X's and O's coach, so he needs his team to play fast to make up for what he lacks in coaching ability.

It is why the Spurs were so successful against the Grizzlies in the WCF. They crowded the paint and basically eliminated Z-Bo from the series. The Grizzlies inability to space the floor was their downfall that series.

he designed an offense to take advantage of every efficiency on offnese that he could. how is that a bad Xs and Os coach?

I was about to post the same thing. I wasn't sold on the McHale hire but he won me over. He's a really good coach.

Meh, not that tough of a job in the NBA. He had arguably the best SG in the league and an extremely underrated SF.

Slowing the offense down to play to Dwight's strength and having to run an actual offense will be a lot tougher.

I might be wrong on his coaching skill, but I will wait until this year gets started to say otherwise.

Dwight teams have traditionally lead the league in 3 pt attempts. This season will be nothing different.

he is now in the west conf where there is real depth of center play. that orlando finals year had two .500 and a sub .500 in the playoffs. for the last decade+, the west #8 seed has been good for a four or five seed in the east. its a different world my friend!
