If anyone had doubt about the draft day trade this should just eliminate that. I am glad we did this trade, and can't wait till the season starts.

To be fair, the Sixers are in total tank mode and don't want Noel to play.

I agree, I was excited when the pick was announced, but I would have been bummed if he sat the entire season. This further enforces my optimism of the trade.

But Bill Simmons said that us trading him was a terrible move

I mean we would have missed out a 180 lb 19 year old with one knee

God that was so fricking stupid of us

Noel could win the vault in men's gymnastics, on that knee, and Philly wouldn't let him play this year.

Simmons is a dumbarse. This just reinforces the move that we made on draft day. The front office wants to put a competitive team on the floor this year with the re-branding and I don't blame them one bit.

I agree, it isn't good for business with the rebrand to put a subpar team out on the floor.

we were pretty competitive last year, although our record doesnt reflect it. id say the majority of our losses were <8pts.. i fully expect us to make a run at a 7-8 seed this year. I know its only preseason but you have got to be optimistic about what we are seeing so far.

Anybody that thinks we won this trade because he is out for they year is just as stupid as someone who thinks we lost because we gave up two potential lottery picks.

How about we wait 3-4 years before picking a winner

That would require us delaying gratification, and we're not good at that. We want to know who won NOW!

Here's the deal. You could argue that we should wait to determine who "won" the trade, I suppose, in the abstract. However, I'm absolutely sure that it was a good move for the Pelicans based upon the circumstances.

Simmons loved the deal before he found out we have up our pick next season.

Also, he was saying that Jennings/Noel/draft pick would be better than Jrue.

That's the whole point of the arguement. This trade makes us better right now. Maybe in 3-4 years Noel will be great but nobody can say he will be anything this season obviously. That being said we have a more skilled version of him so only thing I care about is draft pick which obviously means pelicans thought jrue was as much or more value than a 5 or higher pick and Noel.

pretty sure noel can get back if he wants to. I'm sure they just want him to get as big and healthy as possible before next season though... nice job. get paid a few mill to eat and lift and take pics

His frame will allow him to get to 220 max. His offensive game is severely lacking.
