1st Quarter:

3rd and 10 at MISS 49 Bo Wallace pass complete to Ja-Mes Logan for 13 yards to the LSU 38 for a 1ST down.

3rd and 9 at LSU 37 Bo Wallace pass complete to Vince Sanders for 16 yards to the LSU 21 for a 1ST down.

2nd Quarter:

3rd and 15 at MISS 39 Bo Wallace pass complete to Jordan Holder for 23 yards to the LSU 38 for a 1ST down.

3rd Quarter:

3rd and 15 at MISS 19 Bo Wallace pass complete to Ja-Mes Logan for 17 yards to the Miss 36 for a 1ST down.

4th Quarter:

3rd and 9 at MISS 40 Bo Wallace pass complete to Donte Moncrief for 33 yards to the LSU 27 for a 1ST down.

3rd and 6 at MISS 19 Bo Wallace rush for 6 yards to the Miss 25 for a 1ST down.

3rd and 10 at MISS 25 Bo Wallace pass complete to Ja-Mes Logan for 14 yards to the Miss 39 for a 1ST down.

7 times Third and long - 7 conversions. That's really bad!

What's even more telling is we only rushed 4.

What, though, does it tell us? We can't tell when a Bo Wallace is going to take off for a long gainer while our inept LB corp watches and chases from behind? Or, our secondary figures we'll backpeddle past the first down marker and make a big attempt to strip the ball??????

And on many of those conversions the secondary was playing past the first down marker.

This was the worst. We had scored twice and pinned them deep. Get the ball back in good field position and we're up 21-17 with the momentum.

You think we only rushed 4 the majority of time on 3rd down?

There won't be many 3rd downs.

Yeah I watched the game. Did you? On almost every third and long he rushed 4. He sometimes brought a linebacker or safety, but would drop an end into coverage. He brought more pressure on first and second down than on third. It was really pissing me off.

I really hate that 3rd and Chavis zone defense

we rushed 5 a lot just could not get there, everyone knew who the 5th rusher was made it easy to block.

we are not very clever with our rush packages.

Buda, that's a great post and very telling. I noticed that myself and was so frigging frustrated. I guess that's why Tennessee fans came up with the "3rd and Chavis" mantra for him. Now, I'm not saying he should go by any means, but he sure as heck needs to come up with something else on third downs. So dang predictable, it is almost like they are playing 'prevent' on those downs. I'd hate to be Furman this week. Our guys are gonna take out some serious frustration on those poor guys.

Besides Mett's 3 numb skull forces to OBJ, this was without a doubt the most frustrating thing to watch. When your watching the game and just have zero confidence that our D can make a stop on 3rd down, it's just mind boggling. I can't remember the last time i've watched an LSU D and had zero confidence in them.

Front four get absolutely NO pressure, and the very few times we rush more, they run right into the blockers, no stunts or anything different. And we all know about our wonderful linebackers. How Welter and Barrow continue to be on the field is just mind blowing.

So our front four and our lb's are getting obliterated, and what's bad is that Ole Piss ran the same damn run play all night, and they still had no clue how to stop it. And Chavis deserves a lot of the blame to, as he never set the outside to stop that misdirection hand off, the lb's were always moving towards the middle before the snap and the de just never bothered to contain, and just engaged the tackle without ever coming close making a tackle. Anybody else notice this??

3rd Quarter:

3rd and 15 at MISS 19 Bo Wallace pass complete to Ja-Mes Logan for 17 yards to the Miss 36 for a 1ST down.

That was huge momentum shift. It was like watching the old Saint's defense. It seemed like me gave up a hundred third and longs
