He man handled Malcolm Jenkins who is "bigger" than him back in 2011 after the late roman Harper hit. Steve Smith is 5`9 and he's a feisty player on field but does a lot of good off the field

Actually I was reading up on Janoris Jenkins and he definitely comes off as a scum human being. 4 illegitimate kids with 3 different women, arrested several times, and charged with drug possession.

TBH, his most widely known anger problems were off the field. When Smith punched Anthony Bright, they were in a film session. And when Smith hit Ken Lucas, it was during a break in practice when they were getting water.
Those guys were his team-mates. I think one can reasonably call him a thug based on those instances.
