Just to give the rant a bit of perspective. When you bitch about Les Miles, you're bitching about one of the 25 best coach/school marriages of all time.

Just give him a Lifetime Contract and be done with it, then.

It's a marriage that should end in divorce

We are at best a 2 loss team every year no matter the talent we have. Keep that in perspective.

And make him top paid coach by over a million while we're at it. Chavis to.

Why is that? Why was his tenure at Oklahoma State not as good? Did he just figure out how to coach really well when he got to LSU?

Keep in perspective, he got steam rolled in the last title game and can't remember which down it is. Doesn't have a clue about clock management or play calling.

All while getting his salary bumped constantly. This is Louisiana. Mediocrity gets promoted. It's the athletes that are superior, not the coaching.

When the ultimate goal is a championship, and you have the talent to achieve that, going 9-3 or 10-2 every year with a chicken bowl berth isn't worth very much.

The good thing is he's a stellar coach after a loss. I expect big things out of Les and his staff next week as they begin to right the ship. Since we have no chance at the ship.

Well said let's go back to the 90's, when a winning season was about all we could hope for. Les is the best coach in LSU history. LSU is lucky to have him, his leadership has brought LSU football program as high as it has ever been.

Is there a link to the best tenures?

We're barely in the top 5 of the last ten years - what makes you think its to 25 all time, when coaches used to last longer?

And try to factor in that teams now play 3-4 patsies and 12 games, not 10 or 11 like in previous years with only one or maybe 2 easy games.

He still made a ton of mistakes last night.

The team came out flat....that's on Les

Our #1 RB was basically benched for a good part of the game to be taught a lesson, and inferior RB's got several of his carries....that's on Les

He failed to call his final timeout with 28 seconds left, something that myself and thousands of other non-coaches were screaming for him to do....that's on Les.

Les is a good recruiter, and he does a pretty good job of overseeing a program. He absolutely sucks on gameday, though. This is at least the second time that he has effectively been brain-dead in the last minute of an Ole Miss game.

Les does a pretty good job of taking advantage of the built-in advantages that LSU has to offer, but then he effectively pisses away a lot of those advantages on game day.

And as many championships as Coker, Fulmer, Spurrier, Chizick, Stoops etc. Yet some don't want to compare him to those coaches. All are overrated. Only 2 are elite, Saban and Meyer. But we don't want elite. We want good. And that is what everyone is starting to see. Too many here and in the admin don't want to be elite. Seasons like this and last nights valiant effort in defeat after falling behind a 3-3 OM injury riddled team 17-0 is acceptable and applauded.

Every team has talent not just LSU, you win some and lose some. Oh and let's fire a coach after every loss
