Income Tax Question - Property Tax Pmt Date

If I pay my property taxes on January 1, 2014, can I claim them on the 2014 income taxes instead of 2013?
Also, if I pay next year's property taxes at the end of 2014, can I conceivably count both years of property tax towards the 2014 tax year?

Yes property taxes are deductible in the year that they are paid.
