thats a total BS call IMO. Jenkins tried to lead with the shoulder and hit the shoulder.

nothing more the guy could do.

The defense part is BS imo. The reason MJ hit his head was bc the WR tightened up bc he was expecting a hit.

Hope MJ appeals bc the alternative is what happened to Cobb.

Very good point... Head injuries are still so much worse, but it's football and they wear helmets for a reason.

What pissed me off is Kenbrell rolled up and immediately started calling for a flag. THEN the flag came in.
We could go on for days about the questionable calls that day, but.... Germans.

Did the NFL even watch the replay?

Just watch. Every time a saints player gets flagged for a personal foul, he will get fined by the league. It doesn't matter what the replay shows.

I hate when players do this. They should get flagged for that.

You'll see this more and more often - offensive players will try to use the referees' lack of good judgement to their advantage by taking calculated risks to initiate helmet to helmet or give the impression of a helmet to helmet hit to draw a flag.

The hit on Sproles was textbook. The hit on Thompkins had incidental helmet to helmet.

Are people who review the game to fine players just that dumb?

If it is a high speed collision involving the head, 9/10 times the player is going to be KTFO. thompkins got hit, and got up RIGHT away and started calling for the flag. Obviously he's not hurt and he didn't even aim for the head (unlike the damn hits meriweather put on starks(?) and the one that knocked out eddie lacy).

To me that's equivalent to a kid saying "mom! [older brother] hit meeeeeeeee". if he meant to hit you to knock you out, you'd be knocked out. He's being a little bitch, receivers doing this are starting to become equivalent to bball players flopping, its stupid and annoying.

They're not saying the helmet to helmet contact was intentional.

yes I understand that. What I mean is, he made a good, clean football play/hit. There was no intent to knock him out (as far as we know). There's just a whole bunch of wrong this year with fining for the smallest thing.

Every hit from the defensive player is to knock someone out, jar the ball loose, and make them think about the repercussions of the next play.

the hit was clean. I don't mind the penalty since real time quickness of the game and the seemingly vicious hit, at the time worried the ref.... but the fine is dumb.
