I realize I'm a tad early with this topic, but in lieu of the bye week, just making conversation.
Brees is 34, we can say he has about 3 (or 4 more years if he has a computer chip surgically inserted into his neck) and facts are we need to start thinking about the future of this team and offense relatively soon. Two good young backups in the league now are Nick Foles and Kirk Cousins, both are great at throwing the ball and show pretty good pocket presence/decision making for young guys.

I know Foles will be a FA in 2016 - 3 years away, but I think we'll need to make a move before that considering VIck is 33 himself.

You guys think we take someone in the draft or go for an experienced player that's had marginal success?

Is Luke McCown the future?

Foles isn't going anywhere, Vick is old and gets injured every game. I say we draft our next QB in a couple of years

There's no way in hell Philly would let Foles go

If Brees can just hold on for another, say, 17 years, Baylen should be ready to take over.

Barring unforeseen injury I think Brees plays to 40 or at least third SB ring. Peyton is still cooking at 37 with a surically repaired neck. Brady has stated he wants to play until 43. The old grooming QB model is becoming extinct. Ride him as long as he rolls then worry about it.

I'm happy with Luke.
As to the future he could be on the practice squad.
When CSP gets concerned about a future QB is when I get concerned about a future QB

We're just gonna draft Anthony Jennings after he wins the next 2 Heismans, right?

I think they should draft Aaron Murry from UGA. he got a strong arm and make all the throws needed. he can sit under Brees for a few years and be ready when Brees leaves.

There are a couple of good QBs in the draft next year once you get passed Bridgewater, Hundley and Boyd. I'd like to spend a 2nd or third rounder on one and develop him behind Brees.
