realistically..... What are the pros and cons for 22's vs 24' ? I know the extra 2 feet will make a softer ride on the longer waves but it is really needed when crossing larger bays/lakes?

there are a ton of 22'ers out there for sale on the used market and the 24's are few and far between. Is a 24 worth the wait?

The difference is a 24' can fish up to 4 (still tight) and a 22' can too, but a pain in the arse. If one or the other has a Tee top, drop one fisherman.

In my experience that 2 feet is huge. I fish out of a 22 foot Skeeter and the difference between it and a 24 sure seems like more than 2 feet.

I wish I had a 24.

more room (storage and fishing), better ride, more range (if going offshore)

If staying strictly inshore 22 is better IMO.

Unless you have tits (of the female variety) or are under 10 years old...you ain't fishing 4 on my 22. Then again I don't even like a t-top. Maybe I just can't cast for shite.

So, i see a pretty badass 22' for a decent price, but im still torn on if i should wait for a 24 to come along.

Check it out. If you like it, get it, if you don't, don't.

Agree. If it is too bouncy for my 22 I shouldn't be out there anyway.

mostly just marsh and lake pontchartrain on good days, but i wouldnt mind being able to shooting out to the close rigs if the weather is right. and i know a 24' would allow for it to be a little rougher than the 22'.

Agreed. Granted, I'm used to going offshore in a 20 footer packed in like Mexicans, so maybe my opinion isn't as valued as others.
