The makers of CoD: Ghosts are ashamed of the game

This is pure speculation, but from watching the commercials it appears that the makers of this game don't want you to see it. None of the commercials I've seen contain a shred of gameplay, they are all attempts at comedy. This tells me that the makers of the game know it is shite, so now they're just trying to make funny commercials.

If a person on the fence enjoys the commercial, then they are more likely to remember these good feelings when they see the game at the store. This is advertising 101. If your product sucks, use a funny commercial to make people feel good about it.

Conversely, the BF4 commercials contain nothing BUT gameplay. Two very different advertising strategies are at play with these games, we'll see which one works better.

I haven't seen a single commercial for CoD: Ghosts yet, unless I have and they just weren't memorable.

CoD has become a sad franchise at this point.

When I saw a short trailer it looked like the stole some from Ghost Recon Future Solider.

As I have said before, cinematic trailers are worthless.

Yeah, there is no need for gameplay footage in COD trailers. The buyers know what they're getting and buy it anyway because they figure everyone else is getting it, too. If FPS games were fast food chains, COD is essentially McDonalds.

EDIT: And I indulge in McDonalds from time to time.

I never thought I would say this, but that is an insult to McDonalds.

Yeah...at least McDonald's has tried to clean up their image a bit. Plus the $1 menu.

I think I would equate CoD to KFC. When it first came out it was awesome. You wanted it all the time. Now, how often do you want KFC? When is the last time you actually CARED about wanting KFC? I haven't had KFC in a long arse time.

Developers: "and here we have a fish with revolutionary AI that moves when it detects the player getting close"

Internet: "actually that's a pretty basic script that was also seen in a game called mario 64 in the 90s"

Developers: "I see... well take a look at the details on this dogs face"

Great company.

There are lots of gameplay videos out on YouTube. I don't think they're holding much back. That said, it will probably be the same ole same ole tired bullshite.

I have never played Battlefield games. What are some of the differences? I like that if I only have 30 minutes to spare I can knock out a few games of COD quickly. I do sometimes get bored with the whole concept of it though. Are Battlefield games a lot longer?

Grasshopper, you have much to learn. Battlefield is not but a 30 minute crack high. It is an extended brain orgasm. It is a tantric state for your phalanges. Battlefield is the top of the mountain. Gaze upon the truth of the righteous and let us meditate on your revelation.

Ohhhmmmm
