After a tough loss against De La Salle last Friday, the Pony Express look to rebound against a game Lusher Lions team tonight at historic Pan Am Stadium in the Battle of Nashville Avenue.

ETA: The McMain-De La Salle game last week was at Victory Field in Joe Brown Park in New Orleans East. That stadium is GORGEOUS! It was the first game there ever. More teams should play out there.

Stadium looks good.

By far the nicest thing in New Orleans East - Joe Brown Park. I wonder if the nature area and planetarium have been refurbished and reopened.

Lusher. Both Lusher and McMain are on Nashville, just a few blocks apart.

i'm glad someone's playing there lol... otherwise it'd be the biggest white elephant in HS football history...

maybe some of the NOLA schools can host games now with another stadium... instead of traveling both years of home-home deals

Miller-McCoy (currently the only school in the East with a football team) already had an contract with another stadium for their home games so that's why they aren't playing there. I'd expect them to start next year.

Someone from De La Salle said they were very impressed and they may play more games out there.

:keege: but sometimes money plays a part in that

West Monroe goes to Ruston this Friday.

Last time Ruston won was way back in 1990 when Chick Childress was head coach, I think that was Childress' last year at Ruston, 1990.

WM is a little down this year, I think Ruston has a decent shot at pulling this one off this year.

McMain 14 - Lusher 14 Half

Pretty entertaining game so far. McMain WR Charles Jackson dropped a WIDE OPEN pass on the 1st drive that would've went for like 70 yards. There was no one within 20 yards of him.

Deuce Wallace and the Riverside Rebels busting Newman's arse, 28-7 early third and driving again.
Newman has too many guys playing both ways to hang.

He's a little nicked up. Only 2 catches (iirc) but he had a 74 yard TD catch. Hasn't been targeted a ton as he's doubled or triple teamed often.

Tied at 21. 0:24 left in 3rd.

Edit: Drake ended up for 5 or 6 catches. Had a great one handed catch to get a first down. He is an unreal athlete.

Riverside up 35-13. Very impressed with Riverside, they are playing a bunch of soph. and freshmen. Bill Stubbs is rebuilding that program very quickly.
