Who thinks that serving a liiiiitle bit of booze at the games might encourage people to want to attend and stay attended throughout the game?

If nothing else, at least just through the first 3 quarters in the general, non-student seating areas.

EDIT: I know it's SEC ordinance. I just think the league as a whole should reevaluate its stance.

LSU can elect to serve it if they choose.

Attendance or leaving early has nothing to do with selling beer. If it did, these issues would have been prevalent years ago since we've never sold beer.

Are you willing to pay $8 for a beer?

Hell, I'd spend my last $8 dollars on a beer in Tiger Stadium.

Uh yeah. Unless you are a dirt poor college student, who wouldn't pay 8 bucks for a beer? That's what they cost at any concert or pro sporting event.

I know that and you may know that, but I suspect many here don't. I have no problem selling beer.

Of course, it would, at least to some degree. I think "stay" much more than "attend," but I suspect that both would be aided.

What I do worry about somewhat is the load that would put on already strained concourse, restroom, and concession areas. I doubt behavioral issues would be much of an increased concern given that so many people are already drinking before and during the games.

dui and dui accident litigation.

more belligerent fans.

summons and arrests for folks buying for students.

really don't think LSU/SEC wants to go there. I could be wrong.

get better, get ready...get even.

I think this is the main sticking point as to why more colleges aren't selling alcohol.

All the pro sports do it without any major problems. The only difference is not having a large block of college students.

More people are outside the stadium at surrounding tailgates and bars getting shwasted than inside, and driving home anyway. LSU doesn't seem to have a problem saucing up the Bayou Country fest crowd and sending them along on their vehicular way, either. Next

That's generalizing. Most normal people don't get beligerent when the drink.

bel·lig·er·ent adjective \b?-'lij-r?nt, -'li-j?-\
: angry and aggressive : feeling or showing readiness to fight

Just eliminate contact between Students and general crowd. If the concourses aren't already separated, separate them. Cokes only.

I've been bringing a flask in the game with me for about 12 years, so it wont affect me at all. i always assumed everyone did that anyway.

I "beer-ed" out anyway by kickoff, that's why I sneak my flasks in with gin, vodka and whiskey...I am a walking bar...

I hear ya...but I lived in Philly/NY/NJ and there were major problems....so much so that they had to install a JP court room in the stadiums to process the belligerents. those problems were the direct result of serious tailgating compounded by in-stadium drinking where people would buy multiple beers at multiple times. we've had how many killings and near killings outside sporting venues in the near past and just because there seems to be a double standard for gameday drinking and driving does not preclude LSU/SEC from possible litigation when someones loved one is killed by someone who was served, for profit, alcohol in a venue like Tiger Stadium. just sayn' it's a slippery slope if LSU takes that path.

get better, get ready...get even.
