So who here watched the latest installment from Toy story with their kids. Honestly that franchise has so much left in the tank they should pop out a few more movies. Anyway it was very entertaining and the 3yr old got a kick out of it.

I thought it was awesome. It's coming on again on Saturday night on ABC family for those who missed it.

I definitely don't mind if they continue the franchise through tv specials and shorts, but you're not going to top the final Toy Story. There are quirks within the Toy Story universe they can touch on, but major fricked up factors of their universe that the first 3 go after, no. They've done everything.

The first Toy Story, while on the surface cute and fun, developed a very horrifying universe that could only could serve to produce sad characteristics of our characters. Imagine if in our world parents completely abandoned and ignored you after you turn like 10. That was basically the subtext, and when your gods are 5 year olds, then it's going to without question create heartbreak. The creators realized this and the sequels perfectly capitalized on this aspect of the universe. There's no place else to take the story as a whole, to where there should not be a sequel.

It's my understanding that there will be another short due out in Spring 2014.

Really enjoyed it. I've been a Toy Story guy since I was 8 when the first film came out.

IMO there should never be another movie but I'm definitely down with TV specials.

I liked it.

It started a little slow but once it got going it was great.

I wish it had been a bit longer though.

It probably could have served at the template for a full movie.

Would definitely prefer hour specials. With commercials you are looking at like 45mins of actual content. That's a fair amount of content. It was just gettin started and it was over. Those characters and the stories still have a lot to offer.

We enjoyed it, but my kids were somewhat scared. Granted, I turned off all the lights and lit a couple if candles.

Not even remotely true. There are virtually unlimited ways they could go within the TS universe. I realize that you loved TS3 (and the trilogy) and think it was a perfect story arc (and I don't really disagree), but to say that "they've done everything" is just preferential. This special last night showed how easy it is to create new stories with the same characters in the same universe. I think there will definitely be more TS movies unless something drastic happens and Pixar randomly defaults or goes belly-up.

As for the special last night, I thought it was really good. I agree that it did sort of end abruptly, but I liked it a lot. And I liked that it felt like more than a normal 21 minute episode of something (felt like it could've lasted at least twice as long really).

I wouldn't be mad at them if they did specials like these every now and then (and with other Pixar franchises as well).

The Incredibles is perfect in this scenario...

I liked how it introduced some other toys that you haven't ever seen before like Combat Carl.

I enjoyed this and looking forward to more from them, BUT...a little disappointed in that the plot was directly ripped off of TS2 basically.

I liked Combat Carl, and Combat Carl Jr. though.

It was good. Was that Carl Weathers doing the voice?
