And what happens to these Goliath 110,000 stadiums when the next round of HDTVs come out. I hear 3,500 and 2,200 (instead of 1080), is already out, all that is lacking is support (and they are very$$).

Back to the original question. The NFL experience can be a better experience. Which still makes no sense as to why their stadiums aren't larger?

Is it because college stadiums do a lot of add on's? Just curious. Something my 2 brain cells wonder about now and again.

College stadiums cram people into tight spaces whereas NFL stadiums have more comfortable seating.

No college kids?

If the patriots built a 110,000 stadium, would it sell out?

You can cram a lot more people onto a row of bleachers than you can a row of seatbacks.

That's one of my points. The NFL experience is better in that regard (+beer).

They can't make them as is but bigger?

A stadium full of hot coeds > a stadium full of painted men with beer guts.

I think part of it is with Colleges its a selling point of the program and boosters with large sums of money will do anything to build up the atmosphere to sell it to recruits. As opposed to the NFL where you get players through the draft and contracts. ANd the season is much longer in the NFL so in turn you can get more butts in the seats.

College's now have generations upon generations of fans that will swear loyalty to an Alma Mater. The NFL doesn't really have this (some do).

A generation of a family can attend LSU, and their parents went there and their kids will go there and so on.

I think an NFL stadium capacity can be so much that it tops out, Michigan's Big House can probably get bigger and bigger and keep filling it up.

I still prefer the NFL experience though.
