The fricking bought the japanese gold and silver versions before the Americans were ever released. Think i was like a year ahead of the American release.

i'll be dropping $300 tomorrow on a 3DSXL and either X or Y

You will enjoy it!

My current line-up:
lvl42 Greninja
lvl36 Charizard
lvl33 Lucario

All other kids like Snorlax and Tyrunt are in day care.

Love the game but disappoint the Mega Evolved forms are only during combat. Wish the pokemon could stay in this form.

The old Blue and Red versions.

Games like Pokemon are so much more fun without the internet. We would run around and not know if it was the first time someone had come across something. lol

Like previously discussed; going to Books A Million on Saturdays was heaven. You would talk about the secrets you had discovered and battle.. then just talk nerd kid shtt.

lvl 35 Pidgeotto
lvl 32 Lucario
lvl 34 Jolteon
lvl 30 Lapras

In the PC I have a Marowak and Amaura

No doubt. Had my little nephews ask if I ever played pokemon. I laughed and showed them what I played on and videos of red and blue. Then offered either one $50 to let me borrow X or Y and thir DS. I was rejected. Bastards.

Where did you catch your Lapras?

Also, does the number of Pokemon in your lineup affect the distribution of shared XP?

Example:
1 Battle = 100XP / 2Pokemon = 50XP EA
1 Battle = 100XP / 4Pokemon = 25XP EA

Does the percentage of XP to be shared always stay static and not dependent on the number of Pokemon in a lineup?

or

Does the percentage of XP to be shared is dynamic and based on the number of Pokemon in a lineup?

I got Y because I liked the legendary Yveltal (Dark/Flying) better than Xerneas (Fairy). Also the Megaevolutions for Charizard and Mewtwo make their stats more powerful in Y while in X it changes their type.

Plus it seems like more people are getting X and I'm used to/like having the game most people don't have since I had Blue and Gold growing up.

Always. Always. Always have EXP Share on. No reason not to with the way it works.

The battling pokemon receives 100% of the experience and does not lose any of it because of EXP share. Each pokemon in your party will receive 50% of the experience. If you have a party of 6, this means you get 100% + 50%(x5) for 350% experience gain.

No reason not to take advantage of that. Turn EXP share on the moment you get it and never touch it again.

So Exp share works better than B/W? Idk how different it was in X/Y since becoming an option rather than an item to hold.

I remember the christmas I got my pokemon yellow 5special edition bundle.

We were at our family get together and I brought my official nintendo strategy guide, and on the page right before it showed all 150 pokemon with stat ranges, there was a grid with all 150 pokemon on it with no names by them or anything.

I was sitting by my uncle and he asked me if I could name all 150 without looking at anything. I did, and he was convinced I was bullshitting when I got to names like "Staryu" and "Starmie"

I'm not sure how it worked in B/W but in X/Y every pokemon in your party gets half the experience points and the pokemon that wins the battle still gets all the points it normally would.

At 27yrs old I couldn't imagine myself during my early 20s to ever play Pokemon again.

Does anyone else feel they have become nerdier with age? Less than 4yrs ago I cared about roids, the gym and sports betting... Now I find myself collecting nerdy figurines, plaYing Pokemon and building PCs for a larger epeen.

I've always been a gamer. I find myself getting bored with all this new gen crap. The peak of my gaming experience was from pokemon on Gameboy color to FF X and Socom 2. About 10 years. Nothing new gives me that excitement anymore.
