It all started with a crappy punt.

He was trying to put the punt out of bounds so the guy with the highest return average in league history didn't get it.

It all started with not playing for the first down. And being a slave to running out the clock when everyone in the stadium knows you're going to run the ball. Consequently you only run off like... twenty seconds.

Sorry the punt was executed as it should have been they wanted to protect against a run back. The game is on the offense not being able to eat some clock up the last 2 series.

The punt was short and out of bounds. It was planned that way and perfectly in accord with the "run the clock out" strategy that cost the Saints the game.

The loss was well-deserved. Anybody who uses that strategy deserves to be beaten by a daring opponent.

Well, if that is the case, and I don't doubt you, then, Payton's run the clock out strategy on Offense is all the more puzzling.

IT was 42 yards with no return. I guess he could've punted it to the 1 and out of bounds but that's not realistic.

He would have punted it in bounds to take time off in that case.

He angled the punt out of bounds so the return man couldn't return it.

You ever seen a punt with about a minute left, bro?
