“A key to this football game will be the officials and whether they allow the man-to-man defensive backs for Florida to be physical with the LSU receivers,” Danielson said in a promo sent out for the game. “Will they allow Vernon Hargreaves III and Loucheiz Purifoy to put their hands on the receivers and re-route Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry? That aspect is important in this game because if the officials start calling early ticky-tack penalties, it will take Florida out of that preferred defensive style.”

“LSU is going to face a very athletic pass rush,” Danielson said. “The Tigers were not able to put pressure on Aaron Murray and they paid dearly at the end of that game when the Georgia defense finally started to put some pressure on Zach Mettenberger. This Florida defensive line is superior to Georgia’s and that’s going to be an important part of this game. But sometimes as a quarterback you get the feeling that ‘We’re better than them. We have better play-calling then them. We have better receivers. They are not going to stop us.’ That feeling does permeate the huddle and I’m sure Mettenberger feels that way.”

I don't know why Danielson gets a lot of shite. I think he's the best analyst in the business. He knows what he's talking about and you can tell he puts in the work in the film room.

Anyone know whose crew is doing the officiating? Please don't let it be Ritter's.

Totally agree with danielson. Gators can't get into a scoring contest with tigers

I couldn't have said it better. The perceived problem with him is he calls it as he sees it, which tends to piss off the fans that can't take any criticism of their team. He is almost always spot on in his analysis.

In other words if the refs let fla get away with holding our receivers the game favors fla. We're screwed. Fla holds like Bama.

I could not agree more. People who criticize him do not know football or are LSU homers who do not want to hear any legitimate critique.

Also, Verne's mistakes make him look a little bad. However, I do not have a problem with it. They have good chemistry.

I think the hate for Gary is really misplaced anger for Verne and his mistakes. It has become Verne and Gary suck rather than just Verne.

Refs shouldn't be a factor.

We should handle the gators without b.s. calls ruining the game.

I thought the same. Game was physical, but fair though. Nothing stood out as being aggregious.

These are the two most physical receivers I remember LSU having at once. If they're physical, I think our guys will just adjust and push the $hit out of them. Good luck to em.

Blackledge is better than Gary.

Both have great football IQ. Todd is just easier to listen to.

I would agree with this. Danielson does know a lot. But Verne's reactions to him and his play-by-play just aggravates me. I still prefer Blackledge to Danielson though.

This. People can't handle any criticism. They need a lily pad to tinkle on.
