Houston Robert was very impressive, played both ways and could roll, he could run with that SEC secondary. Uhigh was talented for sure but not miles ahead of PBS as they were made out to be, if they meet again in the playoffs that will be another great game. Don't see uhigh being able to match up with a john Curtis though, they couldn't really stop PBS

I'm not saying anything negative. That's just a ton of carries in one game. Across all levels of football.

I wouldn't say we couldn't stop them. We did in the second half. It's hard to practice against that triple option, and none of our kids were around in the years we played Curtis, so we didn't do a good job following the ball in the first half. Curtis with their starting QB would be a problem, the kid that came in against St. Aug when he got hurt wasn't much of a passing threat and that changed the complexion of that game. When an option team has an over the top passing threat then you are facing a real challenge.

it's not the fact that curtis runs the option... or who is at QB.. it's that they execute like it is nobody's business - I have sat there watching film with 4 or 6 games.. and finding ONE missed assignment for the starters..

and they have some awfully good players too...

here is a question.. how many kids from your team do you honestly think would start for Curtis in their current positions?

yes I know ya'll are missing one that probably would too...

Curtis is a completely different animal... Look at who they faced leading up to that st aug game and how beat up they were.. keep in mind karr and st aug both had open dates before they played too...

and #5 for St aug has NO equal..

Uhigh never really did stop parkview, they fumbled and threw a pic. Curtis is bigger and more physical than parkview. I think any team that is a run team could move it on them, they aren't a very physical defense, Moses is a physical freak but not a great linebacker. As good and fast as that secondary is, they weren't in a hurry to come up and stop a run. I think uhigh is very talented but they have played teams that play their style of game and can't beat them at it, physical ball control teams could have more success. Notre dame is always solid and make you beat them but after seeing that blow out in the dome last year & really the year before by parkview, that's a hump they have to get over. STM does seem pretty stout this year.

No doubt no doubt, I respect the heck out of Notre dame, they are very similar to parkview, consistently good program that doesn't recruit like other schools in this thread but do a great job of getting the most out of their kids every year.

Oh, well, then the Pats never stopped the Saints yesterday then. Your handle is coach and you want to discount turnovers? In some circles that would be considered a stop.

And yes, Curtis executes the option better than most college teams that run it ever did. Of course, they get a lot more practice being in that school for as many years as they are. Hey, it's likely that we are in the toughest bracket that the LHSAA could gerrymander together. Line them up and we'll play and see how it comes out.

U High is good and so is PBS. PBS turned it over twice in their own redzone leading to two easy TD's. Couple that with the long TD's and U High came away with the win. I was surprised that PBS controlled the line of scrimmage. Game was won for UH on these two TO's and the long over the top passes. Hope to see a rematch. To be as athletically outmatched as PBS was I thought they held their own and probably should have won the game.

Not discounting turnovers, just saying uhigh never stopped parkview.
Good point Ashlyn, PBS was definitely outmatched athletically but uhigh hadn't played a physical running team yet, usually offsets all the speed & athleticism. Curtis has the physicality & athletes. Uhigh casting stones at Curtis??? All those athletes just showed up at uhigh with Mahaffey for the free water & view of the parade ground?
