Vendor took me and Mrs. Deacon out yesterday with Captain Josh Ellendar. Second time using this guy and he is really good. Knows where the fish are and super nice to boot. Kept 91 trout, 2 reds and a handful of white trout. Probably caught over 350 fish, so there were plenty of throwbacks, but when you are able to keep 91, who the frick cares! Had a few decent size 17"-18" trout mixed in....so looks like they are definitely heading north. It was the first time Mrs. Deacon has saltwater fished before so I was worried that she wouldn't be able to keep up. After about 30 minutes she was catching just as much as everyone else and taking fish off her line. She was awesome. Here are some pics:

Mrs. Deacon wanted to drive....that wasn't happening.

Caught this one early and released.

You managed to harness the power of beginners luck here. Never fails that the hoist will be multiplied by 10 in this situation.

Nice job. Glad you got the foot hoist pic too.

They have the camp across from ours on superior canal. Good people and they definitely know that area well.

Looks like y'all had a good trip

Are the pictures upside down for anyone else, or is it just me?

For me also. I'm on mobile so I think it has something to do with that.

I posted from my desktop and it's normal, but upside down on my mobile. Sorry fellas.

Bourg, we used a small (like 1.5") swim bait on a jig head under a cork. That's it.

What's the deal with "foot pic" being a thing?

I'm a geologist and we've always used it as a scale, so I've been doing this for years and years.
