I've hunted arrowheads and points about 5 times a
month for the last 4yrs and never found anything like this.

I'll post some pics of my points in a minute.

Would love to see any yall have found.

Thanks for reading my post.

If I was to get hit with an ax, I hope it's an old one and not the new sharper models.
Nice find. How old might it be?

From all the other points I've found in the area
it's between 1000 to 4500 yrs old.

Could be anywhere between 175-12000 though.

I will try to get it dated next time I go to Gainsville.

Nice. We used to hunt them in Lay Lake. There was a shallow we would wade in and find arrow heads. My uncle found a axe stone once. We were kids but if I lived there I would be out there with buckets sifting through all tha gravel. We only used our hands and I have several arrow heads from there

I'll post some of my findings later

Wow, those are pretty sweet. I'd love to look for stuff like that but wouldn't know where to start. I live right by the Pearl River, and I'm pretty sure there was a tribe active in this area - the Acolapissa, I think.
When I was a kid I lived near the Chalmette Battlefield. Behind the plantation home, we found a few old marbles (made of, well...marble ). When we found them, we thought they were musket balls (we were like 10 yrs. old). Just a few years ago I saw some just like it in a museum and realized they were marbles around 100-150 yrs. old. Sure wish I would have kept them.

Plowed ground near water.

Fresh clear cuts.

Freshly graded dirt roads.

All of the above after a good rain is best

Walking sandy bottomed lakes when water is low.

It's one I made out of the bottom of a platinum beer bottle.

Been practicing on glass to get better before trying flint.
