I was happy when the news first broke that Magic was leaving. Means they lost Wilbon (replaced by Doug Collins), and they were going to lose Magic, the two worst on the set. They should have gone with a 3 man set with Simmons, Collins, and Jalen. But seeing that they're adding Doris Burke is like a punch in the gut. She knows her stuff but I just can't stand to hear her talk.

It's hard to downgrade from Magic Johnson as an analyst. Congrats espn, you just somehow accomplished it.

burke knows hoops.
good for espn for finally acknowledging that being a former player/coach might not make for the best television anchor.
simmons knows two things basketball and entertainment. the show will be better.

She is a huge upgrade over Magic. I typically don't care for women analysts but she is the exception. She's knowledgable but doesn't try too hard like a Pam Ward.

Magic knows basketball he is just terrible on camera. Similar to Emmett Smith (although not as bad). You see interviews with Emmett or clips of him on the field / in the locker room and he comes across as being somewhat intelligent, but looked like a complete retard as a studio analyst. Magic is the same way.

that whole crew needs an overhaul. fricking wilbon and john barry as hosts? seriously? and doris burke?

Wilbon is marginally better than Broussard with the jock sniffing. I actually like Tim Legler a lot and have even enjoyed his analysis on sports other than hoops, although he is a little hyper, but for some reason guys like Danny Kanell are getting promoted within the company.
