Looking for a Cajun microwave online and there is a huge difference in prices between different brands and have no idea why. Does anyone have one they would recommend?

Whatever you do, make sure you get one with the cooking chamber lined with sheet metal. They hold heat better, cook more evenly and are way easier to clean than the wood ones.

Agreed. Make sure it's lined. They are not that hard to build. I bought the plans for mine off of eBay. I built the wooden part and had a local sheet metal shop do the metal work.

I believe this one was around $400. But, the guy had to line it himself.

A guy at our tailgate has one like this tricked out with all of the LSU stuff. Accessories and all i think he said came to close to $5k.

I've had food cooked in both and don't think there was really a difference in taste. The second one is a lot easier to work with.

we've cooked whole hogs, turkeys, chickens, pork butts and shoulders. Anything you can cook in a smoker or pit i guess. this one has a grill top as well so we can grill on the top while the big stuff is cooking inside.

Here's a pic with a small gator we cooked for the Florida 09 game.

I've still got Motorboat's at my house. Might cook a hunk of meat in it this weekend.

Well it's good to know she's still safe and that you're staying home with her instead of fishing...again.

You're skipping a night at the camp and a day of fishing to go see Better Than Ezra Friday night. You need to check yourself.

Al Simon's stuff looks great but is ridiculously overpriced. The Cajun Microwave is little more than a knock off of a Latin China style box. These cookers sell used for next to nothing on Craigslist here in FL.

The most notable is La Caja China...
