Is it accurate that he has been benched because of his performance?

partially, the other part is injury... I think the coaches may have finally given up on him but you never know.

Even if he is healthy and comes back I can't see him getting 15 carries/game anymore. I'd think they may just see how he does running with the lead to run some clock when the game isn't as in question.

The performance of Pierre Thomas in the run game will also play a large factor on Ingram's role going forward.

He's "Toe"-ing the company line, 1.8 yards at a time.

Ingram and Richardson were great at Bama. Maybe the Colts would give up their second rounder to recapture that magic!?

I'm not sure if he was or not. It's undeniable that our performance has been better without him though.

Maurice Jones Drew is on his way out of Jacksonville, I'm sure we could send him over there for a 3rd or 4th.

What? The rushing averages are almost identical regardless of Ingram.

ETA: Games with Ingram: 49 rushes for 153 yards, 3.12 average.

Games without Ingram: 76 rushes for 238 yards, 3.13 average.

So how is it undeniable we were more effective without him again?

^ That. Saints averaged 2.6 yards per carry against the Bears. The running game hasn't improved since Ingram's benching.

Well, 3.13 is obviously better than 3.12

I didn't say our rushing average was better, I said our performance. Our 31, 38 and 26 point games are better than the 16 we barely scored against Tampa and 23 we scored on Atlanta. If you can't watch the offense and see it's better the last three games, I don't know what to tell you.
