We had to beat Bama and AM anyway to make the SEC title game. Our loss to ya'll didn't affect the way our future results would have to go except Florida, which is now a must win game. Really all it did was force us to rely on upsets in other conferences to ensure a one loss SEC team gets in, which is the same thing ya'll have to do

Also how is Georgia in any better position than LSU to win a natl title? Both teams control their own destiny's in the SEC and have one loss by 3 points on the road to a top 5 team.

Exactly. It's the typical college football story. It's the schedule, brah.

I also think it's hilarious that people are more upset about their fantasy future than what his injury means to the Falcons.

Cause it means nothing at this point. They are going nowhere. Just like the Saints last year, the Giants this year, the Colts year before last.

This stuff happens.

I'm just trying to figure out why the top two posts on this page are discussing college football national title shots?

Butthurt ATL fans throwing out the "WELL AT LEAST UGA KNOCKED LSU OUT OF THE NC" card, and also the "WELL AT LEAST WE'RE CLASSY" bullshite.

Sad, really.

A Falcons source tells the National Football Post's Jason Cole that Julio Jones (foot) "broke the screw that was put in his foot in his 2011 surgery."
We're not doctors, but it can't be good news that Jones' injury is (reportedly) related to the foot operation that clouded his pre-draft status in 2011. It would complicate any further surgery, and have the makings of a chronic issue.

And that's the risk you take when you trade 5 picks for one player.

Yeah ditka traded a whole draft away for ricky. Didn't help any he had all his success after he left. Then we trade for ingram which was another mistake. Julio has calvin johnson upside he is just made of glass.

well we got four draft picks when we traded him to Miami, including two 1st round picks.

It made sense at the time. Saints were down to the 7th string RB in 2010 and traded Reggie. We signed Sproles after the draft and Ingram was SUPPOSED to be a power back who was also a good receiver. We would have lost the 1st round pick anyways, but it cost us a 2nd rounder

Yeah but those five picks for Cleveland haven't turned out to be crap. So it's still a win for Atlanta

not really

A first round pick is probably too soon for a RB even if he turns out to be a great player... when he's a bust it looks even worse.

I agree with with this. We overvalued the rb position due to injuries and Reggie leaving. That is what I meant by it made sense at the time

We were a year removed from a Super Bowl and had a top 5 D returning, we were in win at all cost mode
