"John Reid: Pelicans GM Dell Demps said on tonight's radio broadcast that Tyreke Evans could be out one to two weeks, but should be ready by opener."

I felt like they would probably give him the rest of the preseason off and have him ready for the beginning of the season. Good news that is wasn't anything major.

The time out may effect his ability to blend with the crunch time lineup (Jrue, EG, Ryno & AD23) but he should be able to step in as the lead ball-handler and playmaker on the second unit without any trouble.

''Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans, who sprained his left ankle in Saturday night's 116-115 preseason opener at Houston, shot jump shots after practice on Thursday.

Evans, who had been wearing a walking boot in the days following the injury, was not wearing a boot at practice on Thursday. Evans also didn't appear to be favoring his ankle as he took jump shots.

Williams did not give an update on Evans' status, but general manager Dell Demps did say on the radio broadcast of the team's 94-92 victory against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday that he expects Evans to be back in a week or two.''
